No disrespect to Family who I love, but we had seen them and had travelled to see Moby Grape. Group Therapy didn't play the second show either. One of GT's singers invited the two of us who had hitched 200 miles to see them to come round to their guest house in the morning and they kindly took us on the train to Edinburgh (20 miles from home) for the gig at the Place. Spent a bit of time with Bob Mosley in Rose Street (oops), went to the gig and stayed in their hotel with them overnight. One of my great memories. Brilliant band and lovely people. Glad now that we didn't get tickets to the early show or . . . . I have a question, though: Does anybody . . . ANYBODY . . . know the lyrics to "Rounder?" Oh, and could they share them?

Every lyrics site I've searched categorizes the song as an instrumental; but any Moby Grape aficionado knows differently. revoltagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07893682915739441612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6667800298422570910.post-92220173972676776012012-07-15T11:51:09.886-07:002012-07-15T11:51:09.886-07:00In 1969 the Grape also played a blistering set at ...In 1969 the Grape also played a blistering set at small club in Beckenham called the Mistralrkangelukhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11918921160481700170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6667800298422570910.post-35927327048094171872012-07-11T18:41:10.318-07:002012-07-11T18:41:10.318-07:00lostsailor, the Keystone Palo Alto did not open un...lostsailor, the Keystone Palo Alto did not open until 1977. Prior to that it was called Sophie's, but even that did not open until 1975. Prior to that, it had been a supermarket.

However, KZSU did a lot of broadcasts from Keystone Palo Alto in the late 70s, and I believe there is a Moby Grape tape floating around from a December 1977 show that might fit the bill. During that period, a lot of the original members of MG were back with the band, albeit sometimes only for a night or two.Corry342https://www.blogger.com/profile/08049035074121231425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6667800298422570910.post-92002338773237111152012-07-11T17:47:13.846-07:002012-07-11T17:47:13.846-07:00Anyone know the true accounting of a tape (i'v...Anyone know the true accounting of a tape (i've had over 20yrs) of a 3-8-69 show from the Keystone, Palo Alto? It's an FM broadcast over KZSU, Stanford and approx 25 minutes with a live female DJ station ID between songs. Can't seem to find this anywhere in the 'lists'. It seems it was held over until February 1, 1969 (also 10:30pm to Dawn)with Ice, Jody Grind and Moby Grape playing the Roundhouse in place of Spooky Tooth and Steamhammer who had originally been scheduled for February 1.

They were still in London (or may have returned to London) for a February 4, Top Gear session recorded for the BBC - and broadcast on March 16. As with most Top Gear sessions, tapes circulate: If You Can't Learn, Truckin' Man, Ain't That A Shame, Five To Eight, I Am Not Willing.
